Outreach
We live out our mission in our efforts to care for those in need in our neighborhood and beyond.
Hygiene Kits for homeless women
Several times a year we gather after worship in the Meeting Place below the Sanctuary and put together hygiene kits for guests of W.H.E.E.L. Each kit includes numerous pads, tampons, wipes and two pairs of new underwear. These “packing parties” give everyone, including kids, a chance for a hands-on experience of doing something loving for our neighbors.
Tierra Nueva
We support the work of this tremendous organization at work in Skagit County. The coffee we serve at all our gatherings is purchased from their Underground Coffee Project, which employs former inmates in all aspects of the coffee roasting business. The bread we serve for Communion is purchased from New Earth Bread, which employs women in recovery from addiction as bakers and more.
Other Local Ministries
The past few years we have held a brass-quintet, Christmas Concert benefiting the Queen Anne Helpline. We host several 12-step meetings weekly and a Girl Scout troop. We are also involved in occasional one-time outreach events, such as our annual adopt-a-family Christmas drive through the Queen Anne Helpline.
